Ingenova has developed the detailed civil engineering for the construction of the Laguna Colorada geothermal pilot plant in Potosí (Bolivia) carried out by SACYR.
The pilot plant is located in the Sol de Mañana geothermal field, 290 km from Uyuni – Potosí – Bolivia, it is a pioneer project in South America and will become the geothermal plant located at the highest altitude in the world (4,980 meters above sea level), with the challenges that this entails.
It is a 5 MW generation plant using geothermal fluid thanks to the steam that is extracted from the ground, from wells at a depth of 1,490 meters and a reinjection line to the well of approximately 2.5 km.
Our services in this project have consisted of detailed engineering of the civil works of the plant, plans for earthworks, leveling, drainage and development of the site, access roads, exterior lighting and supervision of the fire-fighting design, technical specifications for civil works, calculations and design of production and injection pipe rack foundations, benches, support dwarfs, manholes, steps, and other embedded elements, for equipment assembly.
It should be pointed out that the foundation has been calculated and modeled with BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology. This methodology allows the 3D design of the different technical facilities while simultaneously updating their technical characteristics and measurements thanks to the simultaneous and synchronized calculation while designing.
