Steel structure engineering for the extension of a new plant in Morocco

Developed in: Marruecos
Date: 2023

Our work has consisted of the basic and detail engineering of the steel structures for the expansion of a new plant in Morocco.

CEMTEC has developed a project for the grinding and transport of phosphates that is under construction presently. The project consist of the extension of the plant by adding a new line of pneumatic transport and a new hopper for the expedition. This new transport needed two new segments and using an existing pipe rack in part of the new line.

The extension has required:

  • Pneumatic transport rack, including 3 segments with a total length of approximately 270m. The foreseen rack is 1,50 width and has a regular distribution of supports every 6,0 meters, expect in some areas where a wider span is required for existing streets.
  • A new hopper receiving the material from pneumatic transport, with capacity for aprox. 180-200m3. It would have 6,00 meters diameter and a total height (cylinder+extracting cone) of 10,80 meters.
  • A steel tower for supporting the new hopper and for accessing to its extraction. This tower would be 5,25×5,25 meters in plant and with a total height of 22,5meters. The silo would be supported in the upper part, and below there would be several maintenance platforms below the silo and the accessing stairs.
